On February 18 and 19, 2023, the Mount Vernon Amateur Radio Club put K4US on the air from the greenhouse at George Washington’s Mount Vernon to celebrate President Washington’s 291st birthday.
We set up stations inside the greenhouse and in the work room next door, ran antennas outside, and kept the paper logs going all weekend long. It was cold outside, but warm and sunny under the glass, and a lot of members stopped by to operate, help out, or just visit and talk radio. Thank you to everyone who came out and to everyone who worked us on the air.
