I love finding hams who write about the hobby while they are still learning it, and Jim Fanning, KD9WNR, is a great example. Jim started his New Ham Blog shortly after passing his Technician exam, and he has since upgraded to General. His posts read like notes from a friend who is a few steps ahead of you on the same path.
There is a nice mix on his site: plain-language posts on getting licensed and finding a club, a beginner-friendly Parks on the Air guide, a go-box write-up, and an explainer on superhet versus SDR receivers. He also reviews gear such as the sBitx, the tr-uSDX and a Harris XG-100P, and his latest post looks at the SunSDR2 DX.
If you are newly licensed, or helping someone who is, his blog is a friendly place to start. Stop by and say hello.
