If you own an Icom IC-7300 and want to get on FT8, one of the clearest setup guides I have found comes from Andrew, VK3FS, in Australia. He puts every setting in one place: the WSJT-X Radio and Audio tabs, a few waterfall tweaks, and the long list of IC-7300 connector and CI-V menu items that trip up so many of us the first time.
A few highlights: run the radio in USB-D with the widest 3.6k filter, turn off AGC, noise reduction, notch and the preamps so the decoder hears a clean signal, use CAT for PTT, and set the USB baud rate to 115200 on both the radio and the software. He also notes that firmware updates have shuffled things around over the years, so check your versions if something suddenly stops working.
