Happy Halloween from KN4YZY: Working the Moon Tonight

🎃🦇 Happy Halloween from KN4YZY! 🦇🎃

The RV is parked, the campfire is crackling, the bats are out, and I’m working the moon tonight. My signal goes up from the Yagi, bounces off the full moon and comes back down to another ham on a far hill. That’s EME, short for Earth-Moon-Earth, or “moonbounce.” QSL!

Click play and turn your sound on to hear the greeting in Morse code (CW) at 20 words per minute:

Watch the signal go up from the Yagi and bounce off the moon!

Can you copy it? Here’s what it says: CQ CQ DE KN4YZY 73 ES HAPPY HAUNTING. In ham shorthand, DE means “from” and ES means “and.”

Have you ever tried EME, or caught a CW signal on Halloween night? Tell me about it in the comments.

73 & happy haunting!
Corey, KN4YZY
