From November 6 to 8, special event station EG1PR will be on the air from Burgos, Spain, for “Radio por la Repoblación.” URE Burgos and the Unión de Radioaficionados de Soria (URASO) are running it during PRESURA 2026, Spain’s national fair about bringing people back to the countryside. The idea is to use ham radio to draw attention to rural towns that are slowly emptying out.

Contacts with EG1PR over the three days count toward a PRESURA 2026 diploma, and the full rules are on the EG1PR page at QRZ.com. Visitors to the Estación de la Ciencia in Burgos can also see an exhibition of historic radio gear organized by Inocencio, EA1OG.
